December in Tempe

We have not begun our travels yet, that is my friend Amy and I.  We have quite a few months before we do. I have never blogged and as far as I know neither has Amy.  I have never been one to follow through or stick to anything I start, I can see this being the only post and two waitresses one road trip be ignored forever in the blogosphere. I have no idea what that word even means but I have heard it before, somewhere. I really want to start a page for our future adventures, mostly because I really enjoy the name two waitresses one road trip. I guess I'm trying to ride the wave of popularity from the website two girls one cup, which I suggest if you ever want to eat an ice cream cone without dry heaving, don't go there.

It is December here in Tempe, AZ which is one of the best months that we get in the desert. We returned from Northern California about a month ago where we were testing out our ride, Billy Jean. Billy Jean is a 1989 Toyota Itasca, we purchased her off line from what we believe to be a Mormon family who were on their way to having their fifth child and needed a bigger RV. Billy held up pretty good besides a few roof leaks that need some patching and minor details here and there. Other than that we should be good to go and on the road by June.

In the meantime Amy and I are both working trying to save as much money as possible before June which is an incredibly hard endeavor with rent, bills and  a slight drinking problem. The slight drinking problem is mostly on my behalf and harder to kick when your job is to exist in a bar over forty hours a week. I'm a cocktail waitress a a local bar called Boulders on Broadway. We cater to the beer loving, biking and climbing enthusiast. They have thirty beers on tap and a decent size bottle selection. In the evenings I get the wonderful people of Tempe drunk and in the morning Amy cures their hangovers with a good hot breakfast. She works in a local breakfast/lunch diner called The US Egg (I think it's a ridiculous name but seems to make sense since the owners are from Lebanon). Ok got to wrap this first blog entry up just picked up a shift for tonight, mostly picked it up so I couldn't go out to the bars and waste all my money only to wake up with a killer hangover.
